Hannah Liddeaux

Hannah Liddeaux is a Melbourne-based theatre artist whose practice spans performance, arts education, and academic teaching. Her work moves between the intimacy of children's live art, the rigour of professional theatre, and the collaborative space of the classroom.

Theatre

Hannah is an Associate Artist with OpticNerve Performance Group, a Melbourne company known for its rigorous and emotionally immersive approach to making theatre. She has worked alongside the ensemble on productions including The Mill on the Floss and Pale Blue Dot.

Work with Children

Hannah co-created School With No Walls with artist Alex Walker — a nomadic imagination hub offering immersive creative arts programmes for schools across Australia, from kindergarten through to Year 12. The work is built on a belief in the cultural and creative agency of young people.

One of her most celebrated works for young audiences is Moon Broken (2019), an immersive live-art performance commissioned by ArtPlay (City of Melbourne) for children aged 3–5 and their families. In it, children are cast as the sole experts capable of healing a broken moon — endowed with a responsibility and wisdom rarely afforded to them in everyday life.

Teaching

Hannah lectures at the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne), bringing her practice-led perspective into the training of emerging artists.
